Meet Our Teachers

Alyssa N. Crump, Owner & Managing Director
I have been dancing since age five; taking Ballet, Modern Dance, Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, and Pointe. In 2010, I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance and Choreography. After graduating from VCU, I worked for the American Dance Festival, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Dance Association (NDA), Joy of Motion Dance Center, the Contemporary American Theater Festival, and 11th Street Bridge Park. Past teaching experiences include Front Royal Dance Studio, The Ol’ Soft Shoe Dance Workshop, Dominion Health & Fitness, Luray Fitness Center, and Bella Ballerina. I have been dance faculty at Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy (SCAA) in Winchester, VA since 2011. In 2012, 2013, and 2015 I was involved in teaching in-school dance residencies and workshops for the students of Warren County Public Schools, and also taught for the Warren Coalition/ Warren County Middle School after school program “School’s Out!”
In 2013, I received my Level 1 Teaching Certification in Elemental Body Alignment System (EBAS), which I have taught around the Front Royal and Winchester communities. In 2017, I received my Master of Arts degree in Arts Management from George Mason University and in 2018 began working at Northern Virginia Community College as the Event Coordinator and House Manager for the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center. In June of 2019, I became Owner and Managing Director of Front Royal Dance Studio, succeeding former owner Stephanie Parkinson. My experiences have given me a wide knowledge of the fields of arts and business alike, while also exposing me to a variety of experiences that I hope to bring to my community and impart on my students.
